I have following observations on Eid Milan functions: 1. The local artists perform in these functions as per scripts given to them prior to the event. However, one cannot have control over type of jokes delivered by humorist who are specially invited to perform in these functions. Further, our Prophet (pbuh) said” ‘Woe to him who lies to make people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!” (Al-Tirmidhi, 235) & Abu Dawood) 2. There is no harm in in the prizes that are given if the intention of people when purchasing token is only to participate in function. However, if details of top prizes in raffle draws are known to people prior to the event, and if motive for participating in such functions is to obtain a token for draw, then same may not be permissible. Hence, in my opinion, our Community Associations should review Inclusion of humor shows and raffle draws in future Community get together.

All the Jamaats of Bhatkal should confer pusthomously to Late S.M.Yahya, Mohtesham Ghani and Sidddique bratheran. Like only dubai Jamaat has done for Syed Khalil.

We do not appreciate contributions of great persons from our community while they are alive. I appreciate BMJ for taking initiative to honor living personalities within our community. Other jamaats and institutions should also follow this practice.
